Bear Shrine in Dredgehaunt Cliffs |
Today I officially decided my new goal in Guild Wars 2 is to create the legendary 'The Dreamer' short bow (a.k.a. The Pony Bow). So I am working on a lot of map completion. I have been playing since beta and only have 60% world map completion. Sad, but true. I get really distracted with this game!

Before starting this area I decided I'd try re-specking my traits for Precision and Toughness. What gave me such an idea? Well... My Twilight Arbor (TA) armor has those trait bonuses and I thought I'd spec along with it. I also decided to use axe and dagger since they did the most condition damage. Well folks, that was such a huge mistake! The axe has an area of effect (AOE) ability to hit multiple targets... Before I knew it I was dying with 3+ Sons of Svanir on my twiggy sylvari body. Whew lesson learned! And I didn't feel to awesome about spending the 2g on the new axe either. But it sure helps farming Corrupted mobs in groups!
Here is a link to the axe I bought: http://www.guildhead.com/item/25969/ophidian-of-venom#same-model-as
It's called the Ophidian. I didn't bother looking at the preview before buying it off the Trading Post. But I bought it because it had the same icon as the tribal axes. Not a tribal axe, but, it's got a snake going through it? At first I was sort of bummed. I am not a huge fan of snakes... But I reminded myself that God turned Moses' staff into a King Cobra that ate two cobras the pharaoh's magicians had put before him and got over it. The celtic design on the axe reminds me of the movie 'Brave' so that grew on me too.
The weapon that I really love to use is my sword. I transmuted a warden sword skin onto an exotic sword I bought from the TP. It's a Tier 3 Cultural Sylvari Weapon. I love using sword because it has really great animations for the abilities. When attacking with a sword as a ranger, my character jumps, kicks and swings at my target and it is super fun to watch. Here is a picture of my Warden Sword:
That is also my new transmuted magic find armor. I prefer it over the Tier 2 Cultural Armor by far. For some reason, ranger medium weight armor for females is hardly feminine. There are a few select armor sets that are even remotely girly. I have a bit of Sylvari pride and love the cultural armors, but T1 and T3 are the only ones I like. I took three weeks of farming for 2-3 hours a day in my free time to earn enough gold (30g) to purchase my T3 Firstborn Coat. It looks extremely kick butt and I'll have to show you all another day.
So the new goal is to earn some gold for my T3 Firstborn gloves and then on to earning loads of gold to buy my precursor, The Lover, off of the auction house. It's probably around 500g at the moment. It takes a lot to earn legendaries! Below is a screen capture previewing 'The Dreamer' legendary short bow that I am going to earn. It has a Unicorn at the base, a butterfly wing at the top, ribbons that lengthen when defeating other players in Player vs Player (PvP) or World vs World (WvW) and the best part is it shoots rainbows!
Now I am going to go farm with my husband and make some gold. I'll be sure to post some new screen caps of my Firstborn mixed cultural armor in my next post!
